Traffic through this part of the village frequently travels well in excess of the 30 MPH speed limit and as my front door is almost directly onto the road, there is no public pathway on this side of the road, it is highly dangerous and because my neighbours park their cars on the road it means all traffic passes very close to my front door. Furthermore as this part of high street is on a steep incline traffic tends to accelerate in both the uphill and downhill directions. It can often feel like living on a racetrack. I am now 67 years old and my wife is nearly 69. we have lived in our home for 36 years but now with increased volumes of traffic which seems to be travelling at ever-increasing speeds we are finding it to be increasingly dangerous to cross the road to reach the pavement on the other side of the road. Add to this the teams of cyclists who take great delight in using the hill to speed down ( at this stage the cyclists are doing more than 30MPH and you only hear them as a "swish". I am seeking either a 20MPH speed limit or further signage to alert drivers as to the dangers they create in speeding through the village and right in front of my door.

The street light at the end of Simons Lane is directly outside our house, 5 Kethero Close. As it is very low on the pole, it shines directly into our bedroom and is very bright. It does not go off until about 1.30am! Can this be adjusted please to 10.30pm or, preferably turned off altogether as there is an enormous amount of light from the houses around.
