Grit left all over pavement following roadworks
Reported via desktop in the Footways and Pavement damage category anonymously at 17:31, Friday 14 August 2026
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
A few weeks ago we had what appeared to be council workmen and an outside contractor working on Wrosyln Road. It looked as if they were clearing drains.
After their departure it became clear that a great deal of what looks like grit/sand had been left on the pavement. I’m assuming this was from the ballast used to secure the road signs.
If this has all been left by the workmen, it’s very disappointing that they did not sweep it all up and restore the pavement to its original state.
I have left reporting this until now in the faint hope that any breeze might scatter the material but clearly this is not the case.
If this could be cleared up that would be much appreciated. Thank you.

I omitted to say that the photograph shows just one stretch of the pavement whereas there are other passages of grit from the Village Hall, all along the main road, and down into Church View.
