Dangerously long grass on verges (Fire hazard)

The photos show the dangerously long grass, that has not been cut for many months, on verges in Woodstock, near to or on Recreation and Shipton Roads. The grass is extremely dry and a fire hazard. Also, the resulting grass seeds are dangerous for dogs, as they get stuck in their paws and up their nose, which means expensive vet bills for owners. Please cut this grass very soon.

Thank you for cutting the very long grass yesterday (20 August). Next year, it is hoped that the grass can be cut much sooner in the year, before the grass sets seed and then dries out completely, causing a fire risk. Of course the Council has a budget, but with increasingly hot weather, and regular heat waves, the previous policy of only cutting grass verges once a year, is arguably no longer tenable, and potentially dangerous. Further, as a result of the overly long grass, several dogs in the vicinity have been taken to the vet with grass seeds in their paws and inhaled, which have left owners with very large bills. Please review your verge cutting policy for 2027. Thank you for your attention.
