Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Unnotified Installation of New Bus Stop
Dear Sir/Madam,I am writing to lodge a formal complaint regarding the recent installation of a new bus stop directly outside my property . This infrastructure was erected without any prior consultation, advance notification, or opportunity for local residents to express feedback.While I understand the council's statutory powers regarding public transport infrastructure, the placement of this stop introduces significant issues that I request you urgently review: Safety Hazards:, The stop obstructs driver visibility when exiting the driveway which is difficult at the best of times as cars are often parked opposite reducing road down to one lane. The pavement is too narrow for waiting passengers, forcing pedestrians into the road. It woukd also severely hamper wheelchairs and pushchairs. The pole and timetable severely restrict ability for clear view of road. The bus stop has been outside the pub for well over 50 years (the sign even has pub on it) where parking opposite allows for flow of two way traffic. I am deeply disappointed by the complete lack of courtesy notification. Had a basic consultation taken place, these logistical and safety conflicts could have been identified and mitigated beforehand.I request that a highway officer visits the site to assess these issues. I urge the council to consider relocating the stop to a more suitable nearby position that does not directly infringe on residential access or compromise road safety.I look forward hearing from you in due course.

Further to my above observations. According to government 2025 bus stop plans. Bus stops should be erected in well lit areas, there is no street lighting in Tadmarton. At least by the pub there were lights. As mentioned before the road and pavement is narrow so bus stop definitely less than 1.2 metres to curb. Also, it’s much closer than 20 ft from drive way. Please send someone out to look at a bus stop which seemingly has just been ‘dumped’ any place.
