Access cover damaged outside 9 West Street

There is a damaged access chamber in the footway outside No. 9 which has been covered with a temporary footway board. The resident advises that this temporary measure has been in place for approximately two years, but a permanent repair has not been carried out.

During periods of heavy rainfall, the resident's basement floods. They are concerned that water may be entering through or around the damaged chamber, causing ongoing problems to the property.

Enquiries have been made through Street Works/Network Coordination and it is understood that the chamber does not belong to any known utility company. The defect therefore requires further investigation to establish ownership and arrange a permanent repair.

Given the length of time the temporary make-safe has been in place and the reported flooding issues affecting the property, the resident would be grateful if this matter could be investigated and resolved as soon as possible.
