Sign in the wrong place?

Reported via desktop in the Traffic Signs category anonymously at 19:30, Monday 20 July 2026

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

There is a newly installed yellow sign facing northbound traffic just before the Tanner's Hill turning that reads "No right turn to A40 in Barnard Gate." Since 99.9% of vehicles passing this way have come from the A40 at Eynsham, the chances of anyone considering turning right onto the same road they've just left seem very slim.

I suspect there's been a miscommunication somewhere, since the logical location for the sign is facing south on Cuckoo Lane at the top of Tanner's Hill where it could warn potential "right turners" not to carry straight on towards Barnard Gate.
