Collapsed drain in the road
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
I explained that we have a collapsed drain outside our house on the Main Road through Alvescot, towards Black Bourton on the left hand side of the road. The drain has dropped about six inches on one side which could cause a serious risk to motorcyclists and cyclists if they hit it.
The other problem is that despite there being a weight restriction coming into the village huge lorries travelling at speed are hitting the drain and sending shock waves through our house and the adjoining cottages. All of which do not have foundations being build in the early 1800s. The side of our house is even older. I have had building works done and the new plaster is already cracking in several places I think due to the excessive movement caused by the lorries, who also do not slow down to 20 miles per hour either.
