Bushes Blocking Visibility of Oncoming Traffic

Reported via desktop in the Hedges category anonymously at 10:22, Wednesday 8 July 2026

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

I raised three reports in February (8891709, 8982784 and 8999047) requesting that the bushes be trimmed at the roundabout where Dukes Meadow Drive meets the lower end of Winters Gardens Way. I asked you to do this in February before the bushes became an issue in summer and to avoid bird nesting season. You stated that you would only take action when it was necessary. On Monday I was walking back from school with my son and his friend and we had a near miss because, when you are stood at the dropped kerb ready to cross, you can’t see the cars until they are on top of you. Luckily no-one was hurt but I think action is now necessary. I have attached photos showing how high the bushes are and how they block visibility of oncoming cars. I would appreciate it if this could now be actioned promptly and, ideally, could you dig up the bushes so we don’t have to go through this every year.
