Overgrown hedge obstructing the public footpath

Reported via desktop in the Hedges category anonymously at 15:52, Thursday 25 June 2026

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The hedge significantly reduces the usable width of the path and forces pedestrians to step around the obstruction, or move closer to the road. In practice, the footpath is effectively unusable for many pedestrians, particularly those with mobility issues, carrying bags, pushing prams, or who are visually impaired.

I request that the site be inspected in person from a pedestrian's perspective, as the extent of the obstruction and its impact on safe passage are not fully evident without walking the route. The hedge requires cutting back to restore the full width and safe use of the public footpath.

  • What utter nonsense! These identikit reports regarding hedges that are not significantly intruding into public spaces have zero public interest in investigation and appear to be robot generated. Please check whether this is a speculative report by a dishonest firm of gardeners trying to drum up trade. I would sincerely suggest that the originating account is blocked
