Accumulation of sediment which makes the path dangerously slippery
Reported via desktop in the Vegetation & maintenance category anonymously at 08:39, Thursday 4 June 2026
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
The recent flashfloods have increased the amount of sediments in the underpass (about 2 inches deep in places, but covering an area of about 10-20 square meters all along the underpass (West side), especially close to the South drain point). Yesterday my son slid and cut open his chin down there (needed A&E), which triggered me to report this. No doubt that there will be more accidents, I had experienced regular close calls while cycling under there myself. The drain has not been working fully efficiently for a while now, it should be regularly cleaned so water can flow out and the surface cleared of sediments, particularly after the rain we had since the beginning of the year. Thanks,
