Excessive mud on Highway
Reported via mobile in the Roads and Carriageways category by Nik moore at 15:39, Wednesday 3 June 2026

Yet again the quarry ISNT CLEANING PROPERLY! Time and again this is reported and time and again you ignore the problem. They do not clean this properly and as you can see from the photos chunks and layers of mud all the way down to the A422.
Take action before there’s an accident!

This mud has ended up along the A422, along large chunks of mud that have dropped from quarry Lorrie’s, this is extremely dangerous being national speed limit road, and even cars and motorbikes travelling at the speed limit could come to serious harm through no fault of their own. The sweeper was out at 7.30 but by the time I came home from work, the road was a state! The quarry aren’t taking adequate action to address this issue!

Yet again the state of this road due to the quarry not clearing up after themselves is a disgrace! This road should not be brown with mud from the quarry if they were clearing up correctly. It is obvious that the work here has ramped up with them working at the other end of the quarry and a large 20m high soil mound visible y the Indian Queen. So quarry trucks are driving the length of the quarry leaving in an absolute state poorly cleaning her wheels making a road sweeper pointless. This is NOT the correct management of the highway they should be doing! The drivers are obviously bypassing the whole clearing or just doing enough to show willing. But it is not enough. They shouldn’t be leaving the quarry to leave in this state
