Hedge blocking pavement and sight of traffic

Reported via desktop in the Hedges category anonymously at 14:55, Wednesday 3 June 2026

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The house on the corner of Donnington Bridge road and Arnold road has a massive overgrown hedge so that use of pavement difficult. It also restricts visibility of passing traffic on the main road and poses a danger to cars pulling out onto donnington bridge. There have been several reports of this same issue made on FixmyStreet but the underlying issue does not get resolved, The hedge needs to be cut down to no more than 2 metres in height and taken right back to the boundary fence. The landlord ( i believe its an HMO) then needs to take responsibility for proper and timely maintenance of the hedge which i trust is a condition of their HMO licence.

  • I've also put in a bunch of tickets about this. it always gets a light trim then the ticket is closed. I agree the hedge needs to go back about 1m to the boundary. I hate passing this hedge with a pram. It must be a nightmare in a wheelchair too.
