Thank you for the confirmation, we have requested that our interim contractor attend to check supply. Unfortunately any power failure due to cable/supply fault is outside the control of Oxfordshire County Council and has to be dealt with by the local electricity supply company (Scottish and Southern Energy). These faults may take between 10 and 60 working days to repair, depending on their staff resources and how serious the fault is. The performance of the DNO is regulated by Ofgem whom regulate all of Great Britain’s energy suppliers. Please be aware that the Council does not fund the repairs of cable faults in any way.
Electricity companies generally prioritise supply restoration work in the following order: 1. High voltage faults affecting large areas of housing or commercial premises etc. 2. Low voltage faults to groups of, or individual, housing or commercial premises etc. 3. Traffic signals/Zebra crossing/Pelican crossing. 4. Large groups of street lights (commonly caused by cable failures). 5. Small groups of street lights. 6. Individual street lights.
Oxfordshire County Council’s contractor is not permitted in any way to interfere with or try to repair electricity supply faults, as they would be in breach of the statutory safety regulations if they tried to do so.

This is still not fixed - the double street light unit on the island by the old drinking trough (and the light in the clock of that), the street light right opposite at the lefthand end of Sainsbury's, and the single street light in front of the Cape pub on the junction of Cowley and Iffley roads. In aggregate the whole roundabout is too dark as a result.

Thank you for your update, one of the units is currently awaiting some non standard parts to arrive into stock and be fitted, the other two require traffic management to access. we will attend these as soon as we are able to do so.

This is taking too long - some of these lights have been out since early November. There are no so many out that it is too dark on some of the roundabout - can this please be chased up?

There has still been no action on this. It is becoming a scandal as well continuing to be a safety risk.
Please take some action.

We will action these jobs as soon as we are able to do so and have the contractors and traffic management available to do so.
