Footpath sign is placed too low

Reported via desktop in the Other category anonymously at 15:04, Tuesday 28 April 2026

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and Vale of White Horse District Council less than a minute later

Regarding Health and Safety of a dangerous post and sign on footpath where 5 paths meet between Elizabeth Drive and Mably Grove in Wantage. The footpath sign which is a dangerous height and caused a serious head injury to an elderly person, who was admitted to A and E with a head injury and concussion. The post doesn't seem to be a proper sign post and is very short and positioned above the litter bin. I witnessed this accident which took place last Friday. Apparently other pedestrians have had similar but not such serious issues with this post. Please contact me as soon as possible to discuss this and in order for it to be immediately removed and if it is replaced a more sensible sign post put in its place. The signage is incorrect.
