Incorrect private driveway sign

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Hello, I was shown today that a "private road" sign has been erected on the wall at the far end of this road (by the play park). Our understanding is that this is not a private road and is maintained by the council. I am worried it has been placed there for someone to bully visitors and claim the road as their own. Should the sign be removed?
