Gully is collapsing, pothole forming, and making very loud noises

The gully directly outside of my house is collapsing, causing the tarmac to fail around it creating a pothole around the gulley. Its becoming increasing loud as cars and buses have no choice but to drive over it, which is now impacting my sleep and ability to concentrate in the house (due to health issues, I mostly work from home). The gulley cover itself rattles very loudly every time a vehicle drives over it (every minute or 2 during busy times). This has been happening for weeks. I did report to Thames Water (as they periodically clean the gullies down Mill Street) but they closed the case without investigation. I believe this issue is being exacerbated by the fact that larger vehicles drive over the pavement to allow other large vehicles to pass, then drop down hard onto the drain as the they pass each other, as that part of Mill Street is exceptionally narrow, meaning repairs don't always last long. A long term solution is needed (perhaps drop the kerb so its not dropped on quite so hard and creates room for vehicles to pass without having to mount the kerb).
