I have been told to contact you by oxford city council. the tradesman from 472-474 Banbury road are illegally parking on the grass and pavement right in front of our houses from 458 to 470 Banbury road, OX2 7RG. we have had enough of this as yesterday a van was parked blocked me for entering my own driveway. there needs to be some enforcement in place to stop them from parking here. its unacceptable. if you fail to respond within the next 7 days then we will be taking legal action against the county council.

Several of our neighbors have been reporting this issue but nothing has been done for the last year.
Formal Letter of Complaint & Notice of Intent Subject: FORMAL NOTICE: Obstruction of Access and Environmental Damage – Banbury Road (Ref: 472-474 Development)
To the Oxford City Planning and Environmental Health Departments,
I am writing to formally lodge a complaint and issue a final notice regarding the ongoing and systemic parking violations occurring outside my property at 470 Banbury Road (OX2 7RG), as well as the neighboring properties from 458 to 470 Banbury Road.
For over 10 months, residents have been subjected to unauthorized parking by contractors and visitors associated with the development at 472-474 Banbury Road. Despite prior verbal notifications to the Council, no enforcement action has been taken. At approximately 1:00 PM today, I was physically blocked from entering my own driveway by a vehicle (a dark Audi) belonging to a construction worker. Upon requesting the vehicle be moved, I was met with verbal abuse and hostility from the individual on-site. This is an unacceptable infringement on my right of access to my property.
Current Grievances:
Obstruction of Access: The area in question serves as the primary access route for residents. Constant obstruction by vans and cars is a safety hazard and a significant breach of our right to entry. Environmental Degradation: The grass verges outside our homes have been destroyed by heavy vehicle use. This area is not designated for parking, and the Council’s failure to protect this land is a lapse in environmental health oversight. Failure of Supervision: Keble Homes has been notified of these issues repeatedly and has failed to manage their contractors, yet the Council continues to allow development to proceed without adequate parking restrictions or enforcement. Formal Demand
Please consider this a Formal Notice of Intent. We require a written response and a commitment to rectifying this issue—through the implementation of temporary parking restrictions or active enforcement—within seven (7) working days.
Should the Council fail to take corrective action within this timeframe, we are prepared to initiate legal proceedings. This may include seeking an injunction for the restoration of access and a claim for damages regarding the negligence of the Council in overseeing the impact of the 472-474 Banbury Road development on local residents.
