A cluster of large potholes.

Reported via mobile in the Pothole category anonymously at 16:01, Tuesday 3 March 2026

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

This road is particularly bad and at this point there are a cluster of about six deep wide potholes that just seem to get forgotten . It’s not acceptable that cars need to swerve or cross to the other side of the road to avoid these or even stop if there’s oncoming traffic. We have to get our cars checked for being roadworthy every year in an MOT or service, yet the very roads we are using are just not car worthy .

  • I’m writing to notify you of the poor maintenance of the road surface in Sandford Road. Specifically, a clusters of potholes on Sandford Road, past the Voco Hotel, before Heyford Hill Lane [OX4]. The defect had already been reported. Potholes have been marked around them but not repaired despite the size and depth of them. This makes it all more inflammatory. The road is clearly unsafe and not properly maintained. Given the volume of traffic and number of trucks from Laing O'rourke works in the Science Park, I would hve expected the relevant highways department to be all over this road for monitoring of the impact. See the attached pics for your perusal. As a direct result, two of my low profile wheels/tyres were damaged and punctured and there is damage to my suspension as well. I will be making a claim.
