Column 28 - Oxford road, old Marston - opposite allotments
Reported via iOS in the Street lighting category anonymously at 14:57, Thu 22 September 2016
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 3 minutes later
Column 28 was a day-lighter (due to overgrown hedge of property neighbouring road - hedge remains overgrown).. Now the lamp has failed altogether. Any replacement will require cutting of hedge to some extent.. Likely better that happens first -- the entire hedge needs cutting back to boundary and to give 2.5m height clearance, saving folk from walking in to bramble branches.
Thank you for your report.

The council lighting budget is under funded.. They won't replace this light for the moment as it is not directly causing danger. If they do replace it, the hedge will need cutting or the hedge shaded light sensor will cause it to stay lit all day.

Hi. You have replaced the lamp, so the street light now works.. But the hedge is still badly overgrown: can someone get it cut and bill the property owner please? When trees come into leaf, that street light will soon be a daylighter again, and fail prematurely. Right now the pavement is obstructed and unsafe with brambles etc at eye level and lower.
