2ft very deep pothole - unavoidable

Reported via desktop in the Pothole category anonymously at 15:30, Tuesday 24 February 2026

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

I hit this pothole on 8th Feb and we reported immediately. whilst we were in the lay-by with 2 flat tyres, a cyclist hit it buckled his wheel and fell off his bike and a Golf also hit it in the other direction and got flat tyres. We had to be towed all the way home to kent - took 10 hours with wait etc and had to get 4 new tyres at a cost of £1077 as I have a 4 wheel drive and they have to be replaced in pairs. I would like Oxfordshire County Council to reimburse me for my tyres. The road is not fit to drive on. The response we got to our initial report is substandard.
