Ash Tree on triangle of land within my boundary on deeds of my house. This tree is very large and unmaintained.

I wish to know if SODC own this land and this tree as it is huge and needs maintenance. Nothing has happened in 17 years. If this tree is MY Tree I requite written notification so I can go ahead with professional pruning. It overhangs my garden and the highways pathway. The tree is not in a conservation area and does not have a TPO. Please advise ownership and give written pruning consent if it is indeed MY TREE. THE TREE IS BEHIND 39 Thames Mead OX108EY on a triangle of grass.

  • Thank you for your enquiry. We have spoken to our highway records team. They will have established that the tree is owned and Managed by OCC highways. Therefore we will be carrying out works on the ash tree to have the crown lifted 5m all round, all deadwood removed and cut back 2m from the street lamp. The smaller sickly tree will be removed to ground level.

    We hope to have these works completed within the next 70 days.
