Metal posts concreted into highway narrowing lane

Reported via mobile in the Unauthorised objects on other highway infrastructure category anonymously at 20:11, Tuesday 17 February 2026

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The owners of Longview have concreted in several metal posts around their entrance, however these are on the highway and are narrowing an already tight access. This means it is now impossible to get larger delivery vehicles down Orchard Lane. It would now be impossible to get any tradespeople’s vehicles down Orchard Lane to allow us to maintain our properties. Even a Luton van cannot now access the lane, which they have always been able to do.

Given Old Boars Hill is a single track road, adding these posts makes it considerably harder to use this point as a passing point.

The entrance to this property used to be from Orchard Lane, but was moved to the junction.
