11 inch deep pothole caused tyre damage to car travelling at minimal speed

Whilst waiting for tyre to be repaired 5 other vehicles had suffered similar damage. Other vehicles stopped to assist and they stated that hundreds of vehicles had suffered damage over the last few weeks. Sometimes cars are queued up waiting for repair vehicles. I understand that this pothole has been here for over 2 months but has been getting progressively worse. I had 2 elderly parents in the car and it was a very frightening and dangerous situation. Did not expect this on an A road. Seriously bad.
