Several potholes and flooding

Reported via mobile in the Flooding on Road category anonymously at 16:41, Friday 6 February 2026

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The long tow road has flooded and has extensive road service damage.

This is an annual occurrence, I wonder how much money is wasted each year fixing the same problem.

Invest in finding the route cause of this issue and repair that, this is an ongoing issue and has been for 10 years, children have to walk in the centre of the road to prevent themselves getting soaking, unfortunately it is so deep in the centre they are still getting wet.

With no street lighting and pedestrians including children having to walk in the road just to get by the flood is an accident waiting to happen! Cars have been damaged by the road service being damaged and the holes are unseen due to the water.

Can we temporally create a bridge on the footpath to prevent people getting wet?

Updates

  • State changed to: Investigating

Updated by Oxfordshire County Council at 16:41, Friday 6 February 2026

  • Water constantly coming out of manhole. Water is streaming out down the road. It is still flooded in the dip and is covering the road & footpath. Why hasn't this problem been addressed? This could have been addressed before schools return on the 23rd February. The footpath is unusable, therefore it is unsafe for pedestrians to have to use the middle of the road to pass. Drivers are also having to slow and use middle of the road. There are numerous potholes underneath the water. Please fix asap.
