Extremely dangerous pothole on blind bend

Reported via desktop in the Pothole category anonymously at 12:55, Friday 6 February 2026

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Again this morning I had to do an emergency stop in very wet conditions to avoid an oncoming vehicles that was swerving to avoid this dangerous road surface and standing water. It looks like there was a recent attempt to fill it with tarmac but as usual this was a waste of time, effort and tax payers money as all blown out again and the adjacent areas breaking down. This needs urgent attention before there is a big accident on his dangerous blind bend. Also one of the main causes is the culvert and adjacent ditches being blocked with no maintenance undertaken causing the water to form large lakes both sides of the road and washing away the sub surface of the road in the dip. Even these lakes are a danger to traffic and all cyclists/motorbikes are forced into the middle of the road.
