Crater which damaged wheel

Reported via mobile in the Pothole category anonymously at 08:52, Thursday 5 February 2026

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Saturday 24th January 2026

Driving in the rain and dark at 8/8:30pm travelling from Bicester to Aylesbury.

Road is a 60mph road so highly dangerous.

At approximate position, a crater was hit (bigger than a pot hole) which damaged my offside front wheel.

In attempting to pull over as the car warned for loss of tyre pressure, we came across a white bmw who’d hit the same pot hole, damaging the same wheel/tyre. They were stuck on the road with their hazards on.

We managed to pull into the lay-by just further up the road. In the lay-by where 2 other road users, who’d all hit the same pot hole, and all damaged the same tyre/wheel.

In the space of 30 minutes, 4 people had hit the same pot hole and all shredded/damaged the same wheel/tyre.
