Collapsed surface has been there for over a year. Getting deeper and parallel to carriageway on left hand side. Right on wheel track. Impossible to miss on a bicycle. Follows the line of a utilities trench that has been poorly filled.

  • This feature has been present for more like 5 years. A few small sections have been attempted to with a decent attempt made last autumn. However the middle 100 metres section was untouched and the water running down this road has done what water does and make a really deep trench. This needs fixing properly. Ideally my the construction company who dug the original trench rather than using more council tax payers money.

  • If you look at google maps, you can see the trench has been present since 2016 and in need of repair since 2022. Here are just a handful of previuos reports that have been closed yet the problem gets worse every year. This is an unlit 50mph road. https://www.fixmystreet.com/ report/ 2878817 https://www.fixmystreet.com/ report/ 5849227 https://www.fixmystreet.com/ report/ 5882436 https://www.fixmystreet.com/ report/ 6405263 https://www.fixmystreet.com/ report/ 7074582

  • For information this trench was dug by contractors for Openreach at the time when they installed the radio link for fast broadband. It was badly refilled and subsided from the outset.
