Thank you for your auto‑response stating that “this road is inspected monthly, and anything at intervention level will be raised for repair.” This statement is demonstrably inaccurate and misleading. The defects have been present for well over a month, have worsened significantly, and remain unrepaired. This ongoing failure indicates that the council is not meeting its statutory duty under Section 41 of the Highways Act 1980 to maintain the highway in a safe condition. In light of the council’s continued inaction and unsatisfactory response, I am now requesting that this matter be escalated to the Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman for independent review.
