Cars and vans obstructing Eagles Close foot path, which they enter from Ormond Road, where there is no sign to prevent vehicle access.

Reported via desktop in the Other category anonymously at 16:35, Tuesday 3 February 2026

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and Vale of White Horse District Council less than a minute later

This is a foot path, Eagles Close, between Post Office Lane and joins Ormond Road in Wantage prone to intermittent ongoing issues with vehicles blocking the path. Prams and buggies use this path daily and can not pass parked vehicles near the Alms houses, and this issue was recently reported because of parked vehicles. I understand this path is un-adopted, but no signs are present at the Ormond Road entrance to stop vehicles driving into it. A wooden bollard at the Post Office Lane end prevents vehicle exit. Perhaps a bollard or 2 at the Ormond Road entrance near the fire station, would be a useful barrier to Eagles Close. Post Office Lane off Wallingford Street, Wantage, has very little parking restriction for a busy road that needs urgent resurfacing, and vehicles often park on it near to the wooden bollard, where parking for loading and unloading during certain hours should be allowed for a limited time only. I understand this part of Post Office Lane to the wooden bollard is adopted and double yellows would be sensible. There are doubles at the entrance off Wallingford Street. They should continue throughout that road.
