Expanding pothole
Reported via desktop in the Pothole category by Andy Tracy at 11:17, Tuesday 27 January 2026
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
Historically this pothole (in the west bound lane) reappears in the near-side tyre track since the dip in the road surface is never fixed fully. Now the break-up has migrated further towards the centre of the lane and, as you can see in the photo, extends 80cms along. To make matters more difficult, in these rains the original hole is hidden by water.

Please investigate urgently. Lorries and buses are driving around this at high speed and there is nowhere for oncoming traffic to go. I fear an accident is waiting to happen.

This pothole is still not fixed as of last night and when filled with water and in the dark it is impossible to see. Please this does need urgent attention.

This large dangerous pothole remains. The road is busy and I do not feel safe to park to get a photo or measure it. There are many bad potholes on the road between Stanton Harcourt and Hardwick but this is the worst one. You need to go over on to the opposite lane to miss it. It looks deep enough to be likely to damage wheels as well as puncture tyres. A cyclist would probably be thrown off their bike should they not see it, as happens when distracted by busy traffic and as is also likely when it's under a puddle. NB it is still not marked up.
