Bridge and Barriers near Cheese Wharf on Lechlade Road

Reported via desktop in the Bridges category anonymously at 17:29, Monday 26 January 2026

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The stone bridge near Cheese Wharf has been in disrepair for at least two years. I recall it being repaired and almost the same or next day someone driving in to it again. The red plastic barriers to protect the remaining bridge and cars from entering the water are often displaced. In addition the metal barriers on edges of both sides of the road around Cheese Wharf are badly damaged from accidents. This is both extremely unsightly (in an area that is very popular with visitors/tourists) and I also imagine dangerous, otherwise, one assumes the barriers wouldn't be there in the first place. I hope that this is considered a priority by the Council. Thank you.
