Wide and deep pothole, on dangerous fast road, causing vehicle damage and people swerving into oncoming traffic

Reported via mobile in the Pothole category anonymously at 11:03, Sunday 11 January 2026

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

This is a very dangerous large hole on a fast country road just around the corner, so in the daytime you don’t get much chance to see it and at night time poor weather or rain you couldn’t see it at all until you hit it. It is cracks an alloy in my car and my partner has had her tire blown in her car from the same pothole. This is likely going to cost us in total about £800 in repairs. You need to sort this before someone has a serious accident as people are swerving around it towards oncoming traffic. Rough what three words area is ///surprise.prospered.roadblock

  • Wow, how I didn't blow my tyre I don't know. Just travelled along this road only doing 20mph at dusk, pot hole not visible, bang I hit it. It jolted the car and I was expecting it to cause a flat tyre, but I've made it home. We'll see what the tyre is like tomorrow. This was clearly a deep wide pot hole on a busy road that needs immediate attention.
