Investigating
Broken gully
Reported via mobile in the Damaged Gully or Catchpit Ironwork category by Jason Boud at 10:59, Tue 30 December 2025
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
Just to add to the previous flooding reports, and appreciating recent efforts to clear the drains, the result o f which is that we now know that the drain has collapsed so no quick fix available. This is extreme worrying as it will clearly take more efforts to rectify but the flood obviously remains and the next downpour will put my (and neighbours) houses at risk again.

I see you've just closed another report on this subject posted by someone else. Worryingly the response was still about cleaning drains, I followed the link provided which states that Drayton was to be done in November last year and nothing about future works? Sadly for us this need more than just a clean, forecast is for heavy rain this Thursday.

Just to reiterate the comment above, further flooding (three major floods as of 8 Dec, 18 Dec and 8 Jan). Please can somebody update as to when this collapsed drain (which acts as the pond overflow in bad weather) will be fixed? For context, the Highways Team found and reported the collapsed drain on 23 Dec, and it would be extremely helpful to know the date it will be replaced to avoid another major flood.

And again this evening, water is much higher now, the pond is overflowing but it's too dark to take a decent picture. Cars driving by are washing away the flood protection berm that protects my house.

It's seems fixing our own street is the only way to protect our homes, these 2 pumps have been bought by my neighbour and been running for the last 16 hours, at another neighbours expense. Something in the region of 25000 gallons of water has been pumped in that time to circumnavigate the blocked drains. Unacceptable.
