Manholes filled with silt. Public drain on private land.

Reported via desktop in the Blocked Drain / Gully category anonymously at 13:14, Tue 23 December 2025

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

This is an on going issue that I understand was going to be put on the regular maintenance list. These two manholes serve the road surface drainage from the low point in the road. Surface water runs down the road from both directions in heavy rain. The drains get blocked with silt regularly. They were last cleared several years ago. The drain was jet cleaned from the road to the first manhole to the southeast. (See manholes to south east on your plan.) When OPC were on site in October lining the sewer in Park Road they opened the manhole nearest the garden gate. It was filled with silt to an inch or so below the top of the drain pipe. They suggested I contacted OCC Highways. These manholes appear to have been missed - understandably as they are off the highway - in the recent clearance of the gullies on Park Road. Please could you look into this for me. Thank you.
