Extensive pothole damage to road edge

This is a busy narrow road with no passing places. The west side in particular has a line of potholes, some >10ft long and 5"deep, that extends for many tens of yards. The opposite side of the road has numerous small, but deep, potholes.

The road condition presents a danger to those on two wheels and is likely to cause significant damage to car wheels, tyres or suspension. The problem is particularly acute when the holes are filled with rain and it's impossible to judge their depth.
