Blackthorn hedge intruding across footpath

Narrow footpath at A420 kerb is intruded by Blackthorn growth including at eye height (6 ft) forcing pedestrians in dangerous proximity to the road edge on this busy highway with many HGV’s.

I too have had very bad problems with this hedge. I often walk from Barcote Cottages to the Snooty Merman or Littleworth village but that is only possible now by getting your face scratched and your clothes caught on the thorns and having to step off the footpath and into the path of oncoming traffic. Really bad after dark And this happens every year, so why isn't it diarised for annual action?
