  • We run a business, Checkendon Equestrian Centre, pay huge rates, 4 sets of council taxes have 12 employees, many free lancers, suppliers, vets, farriers, hay merchant, not to mention clients, adult and children. One member of staff in her little car has had 3 burst tyres. We are a local amenity and get no tax concessions at all. In the last 35 years since owning the business, my husband have not taken a penny out of the business, but we are being hampered by minimum wage increases, national insurance hikes, inflation, and now potholes to upset our staff , suppliers and customers. The potholes are dire in all directions on the three lanes leading to our equestrian centre. This may well be the straw that breaks the camel’s back. Please resurface Lovegrove’s Lane. Patching up has been ineffective.
