Rough, uneven road surface with potholes

A large section of Whites Lane, particularly around the entrance to the new housing estate is rough and uneven. Bad enough for cars, but dangerous for cyclists. Particularly dangerous as it is an unlit area. It is very difficult to avoid the ruts and pits in the dark. I've almost come off my bike a couple of times, and swerving to avoid when cars trying to over-take is no fun. TH developers should be made to keep the road in good repair - it is their vehicles that are causing the damage (and spreading mud to add to the hazard).
