Damaged verges and muddy paths

Reported via iOS in the Grass category anonymously at 08:51, Fri 31 October 2025

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

This building work at 302/304 Marston Road has been going on for over a year. In that time the formerly grassy verges full of daffodils have been totally destroyed by work vans and delivery trucks. Now that we’re back into winter weather, there’s mud on the pavement’s and cycle track and inconsiderate parking. A hazard for both pedestrians and cyclists. There is parking available on the road with a permit. So no need to park all over the pavement and grass. I have reported this ongoing saga several times, still there’s been no attempts at restoration of the area and the council seem either indifferent or unable to rectify this situation. Meanwhile the council tax paying residents in the area continue to dodge around badly parked vehicles and wade through mud. Not good enough OCC.

  • Unfortunately there’s still no change in the ongoing situation. The mud is worse, the damage to the verges is worse, the cycle track is a slippery mud bath and apparently OCC are incapable of resolving this issue.

  • The developers of the 302 Marston Road housing continue to destroy the verges of the Boulevard road, cycle way and footpath with their vehicles. It is a mess. Re-instatement with grass, bulbs, a tree and hard verges should be required of the developers, before sign-off for the compliance of the works by Building Control and the Planning Authority. Please make this happen.

  • Despite multiple reports of this issue, there has been no progress in the repair and restoration of the damaged verges/grass outside this building project. The building work seems to have been completed and yet the developer appears to have walked away with no attempt to redress this issue. Both the pavement and the cycle track are narrowed by the damage, which is unfair on the local residents who use it and pay council tax for the privilege. I have reported on this issue several times and yet OCC seem unable to help.
