Significant damage to footpath caused by heavy grab wagon
Reported via desktop in the Footways and Pavement damage category anonymously at 12:47, Tue 28 October 2025
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
Yesterday and this morning a six wheeled grab lorry mounted the verge and footpath on Peregrine Way, directly opposite to the entrance to Swansfield. This vehicle completely blocked the footpath for several hours, a footpath which is frequently used by local residents on mobility scooters. Additionally, the vehicle has caused significant damage to the verge and the footpath itself; there is a deep depression now where the vehicle's nearside front wheel was positioned. This wheel will have been subjected to some quite high loads as the grab was operating directly over the front nearside of the vehicle. I have details to identify the vehicle if you need to see them.
