Reported via desktop in the Pothole category anonymously at 14:49, Sat 25 October 2025

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The whole of the Lower Icknield Way fro the High Street to Henton turning Road has many bad repairs and numerous potholes despite being recently surveyed with only two repairs highlighted with white marking but there are countless other that have failed and also after botched repairs continue to be a hazard. We have two recent repairs this month that were poorly repaired they have already failed within two weeks. Other sunken road gullies with one near no91 LIW at least 175mm deep creating a hazard to both cyclists and cars. If you hit this it will damage your car. This had an attempt at a repair last year and all that was done was a smoothing of the pothole without the actual road gully raised back to roadway level and has crated a huge hole due to the depth of the road gully below the surface. Also many other recent previous repairs failed, many new ones where failure to be surveyed in time and also ones where previous been marked for repair and not undertaken. Please can this be done properly and stop wasting taxpayer money with poor repaired damage and lack of frequent monitoring.

  • There are too many to photograph as your reports only allow for three to be added. The description describes the locations and issues plus previous reports have not been acted upon despite assurances. Even when they have been painted with white paint for repair the repairs have still not been completed.

  • Thank you for your report. After a thorough investigation and risk assessment, we have determined that the issue warrants attention within 28 days and some defects raised as cat 1. Not all defects meet intervention and you haven't provided any photos so it's difficult to know exactly which defects you are talking about. There is an additional gully that I previously asked to be reset which wasn't done and I will chase that but I feel some of your alleged defects do not meet intervention and you are trying to get to a bowling green standard which isn't going to happen
