Investigating
Safety and Traffic Obstruction Concern
Reported via mobile in the Current Roadworks - live information category anonymously at 12:02, Saturday 25 October 2025
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
While driving down Walton Street, I was met with large roadblocks positioned in the middle of the carriageway, completely obstructing access for both motorists and cyclists.
This situation was extremely hazardous, particularly given that temporary traffic lights are currently in operation along this stretch of road. I was forced to exit my vehicle to physically move the blocks in order to proceed an action that is both unsafe and unacceptable.
To make matters worse, I was then unable to continue forward due to oncoming traffic approaching from the opposite direction. It is entirely unreasonable and unsafe for members of the public to be left to manage such obstructions.
This area should be properly supervised or manned to ensure the safety of all road users. Allowing this situation to persist poses a serious risk and demonstrates a clear lack of coordination and responsibility.
