Pavement lifted and cracked by tree roots

The roots of a tree (cut down before i moved in) that was on my property has lifted the pavement and caused it to crack. This is at the end of my garden, where the kerb is already lowered and where I am currently trying to lay a drive.

I am after some advice as to what can be done to the realign/ fix the pavement before I lay my drive up to the pavement edge.
