These flags are quite a distraction to drivers, especially when they see people trying to climb the lamp posts presumably to try to take them down. The Parish Council says the lamp posts are owned and maintained by the County Council and that the Parish Council does not have the insurance to get anybody to remove them.

The flags remain in situ, causing a distraction at this challenging intersection which, due to the nearby shop and bus stop, is always busy with pedestrians and motorists. They are at particular risk of disintegrating or detaching and blowing onto the road in the current high winds. Please could we have an update on the timetable for their removal?

Further flags have been hung overnight. They are a distraction to motorists and pedestrians, causing a risk of accidents. One which had been hung a little further down Station Road has already become detached and we have high winds forecast on Thursday so others may become loose and endanger road users. Please could they be removed urgently?

These flags are also divisive and potentially worrying for our residents from non-white communities. They should be removed because they have been put up without permission from any of the necessary parties.
