Drain requires suction clean

The drain marked on the map opposite the entrance to Cedar Cottage and adjacent to the barn at Copyhold Farm does not appear on your drainage maps and consequently is not suction cleaned when the drains to the west (at the main entrance to Copyhold Farm) are cleaned as part of the regular cleaning cycle. Although we keep the surface as free of debris as possible, there is a build up of detritus in the drain trap such that the road now floods in periods of heavy rain. This drain was installed in the 1950s by OCC following a major flood and is the principal means by which road water run-off is taken to a nearby field. The drain is at the lowest point on a long road with few other drains and if it is not suction cleaned, there is a substantial flood risk to local properties.
