Pedestrians risk being drenched by passing traffic
Reported via mobile in the Flooding on Road category by Mr. Robert Somers at 22:49, Wed 3 September 2025
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
I request an update from Highways concerning this section of Kings Road between the Zebra crossing and the corner with Mount View. You are aware that the drain/gully grating is clear but is unable to do its work because you laid down too much tarmac against the kerb when creating the miniroundabout about 7 years ago. I remind you of this every year! You are also aware that there is a blocked or collapsed culvert at thos location. There is also a build up of surface water between the Zebra Crossing and the drain, due to excess tarmac, making the walk from Mount View a hazardous task with a high risk of clothing getting drenched by close passing vehicles. Should anyone report shortly about the presence of potholes hereabouts, the last thing this road's surface needs is yet more tarmac, it needs tarmac removed to allow water to run to drain! Please check with colleagues as to whether this remedial work is already scheduled for action. I would like to see it done in my lifetime.
