This hole is a major hazard. This should be repaired immediately. I avoided it by driving at 5MPH next to the kerb. There was a BMW with hazards on stopped about 30 metres after the hole. He probably damaged his motor.

I went over this on Thursday about 8pm. It was dark and so the white line around it was no use in terms of making me aware, and I had nowhere to go as had a car coming towards me in the opposite direction with a car about 100m up the road with hazards on. Suffered a puncture and had to replace a brand new (3 day old) tyre for £180. Went this evening to inspect and still there and nothing appears to have been done. Shockingly deep and no doubt more cars will go through it this evening and suffer more damage. Needs some form of road closure to avoid more damage to cars. It is a busy road and this pothole is just after a bend and so if a car is coming towards you there is very little you can do to avoid other than to stop, but only if it is visible..

This is an outrageous hazard. My vehicle hit this deep sharp pothole with immediate damage to my tyre and subsequent impact to my suspension as you can see by the pics, the force due to the depth of the pothole caused the joint to spring out of its socket as well as the oil camp resulting in spoilage to the engine. Not to mention the £220 call out fee for the tyre as the secondary issue was not detected aside from when I was about to drive away I could hear the suspension rattling. AA had no reason to pull up the bonnet as damage was assessed as tyre only. Had I not alerted the AA to this I would have driven a further 20 mins which would have seriously endangered my life and potentially others. I will be submitting a claim for costs, I am now without my vehicle as it was towed to a local garage which has left me isolated and vulnerable. This needs to be repaired URGENTLY.

As this has been reported why hasn’t this horrendous hazard been escalated? There needs to be a cone or a high visibility cordone placed to alert drivers and cyclists. Do this before it causes a major accident. As others have said it’s a very dangerous road with no space to swerve due to ongoing traffic. The line wasn’t visible whatsoever, I did not see it however may have had a chance to avoid it had there been a robust warning - even a sign ahead saying dangerous pothole could be placed.
