Ground floor toilet floods during periods of heavy rain

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Level of water in toilet pan rises when flushed during periods of heavy rain. Thisaffects my ground floor toilets and my neighbours at 43 Brook Hill, Woodstock. I contacted Dynorod, they inspected the drain outside my hose on Friday 29th August. Dynorod told me the problem was not on my property, but I should contact Thames Water. Thames Water investigated my road at 18.00 29th August. Thames Water said the sewer line was clear and I should contact the Council. That is the reason I am contacting the Council. I did contact West Oxfordshire DC but they said it was a problem for Oxfordshire C C. I should point that this problem has happened before, but as rainfall gets heavier and more flooding occurs, so my toilet gets backed up more frequently.

  • Thank you for bringing the drainage issue to our attention. We truly appreciate your proactive approach in helping us maintain the quality of our highways. We are pleased to inform you that this area is scheduled for gully emptying within the next month. Rest assured, all Highway Surface Water Assets in the area will be thoroughly cleansed within the specified time frame. If the issue persists after this point, Thames Water may need to attend to this problem once again.
