Light on elton close/terrett ave

Reported in the Street lighting category by JEANNIE CAMPBELL at 17:46, Sat 16 April 2016

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 4 minutes later

This light has been dead since february now. In view of burglary in the area suggest this is fixed urgently now. Don't understand why you keep overlooking the report to get this fixed. I have reported it at least 4 times now - I will be writing the local councillor next to get some action.

Thank you for contacting Oxfordshire County Council Street lighting, unfortunately we are currently only available to respond to emergency situations which may have an impact on the health and safety of members of the public, these will be dealt with within a 24 hour period.
Reported faults will continue to be registered on our management system and these will be tackled in coming months.

  • Streetlights in Oxfordshire are not being fixed as council has not renewed their contract with contractors and still trying to find a new company to repair streetlights - very poor organisation as they knew what was coming.

  • I guess they still have not renewed their contract for street lighting but how long does this take to negotiate. Money saving exercise maybe!!

  • We are still only able to use an interim contractor at this moment in time. Unfortunately the situation was that the contractors exited from the contract and therefore it has to go through a process for a new contract to be agreed, it also requires to go out to tender. This will be released as soon as we are able to do so.

  • Someone turned up a couple of weeks ago and fixed light - guess what next day it was not working again. Can this be repaired properly please?

  • Thank you for your report, I will advise our interim contractor to reattend.
