Missing no right turn sign

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The exit of Allins Lane in East Hendred onto the A417 used to have a no right turn sign. This has no disappeared and some are turning right. It's a dangerous junction and turning right, onto the busy main road, with very poor visibility is going to cause an accident. The sign needs to be reinstated.

  • This was previously questioned and investigated and the result was that this is not designated as a no right turn junction. A no right turn at this junction would increase congestion in the village. Many people turn right at this junction quite safely.

    Allins Lane ecite on to the a417 at the bottom of hill a hill and turning right onto an acute bend. Vision is severely restricted. The no right turn sign used to be where the 40mph sign is. There is a no left turn sign on the a417 in respect of turning into Allins Lane.

  • Thank you for your report. There never has been a Traffic Regulation Order banning a right turn onto the A417 from Allins Lane, East Hendred so a sign cannot be installed.
